Ping task only once when the board is openned

When enabled, the ping task is always running by default and it seems to be pinging apps all the time.

I wanted to disable the task and only ping apps once when a board with apps is loaded.

Is there a way to disable the automatic ping task and use it only once when a board with apps is loaded?

Actually, ping tasks can be disabled by disabling app status in the board or app configuration, but it is not possible to configure how often the ping will run. I find it unnecessary to run this task when the board is not active.

Configuring how the tasks behave seems like a good option.

Also, I noticed that, whenever I configure an integration with my Adguard Home and place a summary in any board, Homarr makes an obscene amount of requests to AdGuard.

Even after closing the board, the requests continue, which is completely unnecessary.

So, isn't there any way to at least reconfigure the default behavior of tasks in Homarr?

No, not at the moment. But the requests shouldn't hurt your network unless your running on battery.

The requests don't really hurt my network, indeed, but they certainly fill my DNS log.

Again, the number of requests is excessive, even if they don't cause any harm. To me, the query frequency doesn't seem reasonable. So, customizing the number of requests would be an improvement.

Could this discussion be turned into a feature request?

Thanks for the reply. At the moment, we don't plan to make it configureable, but we'll likely tune and reduce some of the frequencies.
See #1141 regarding DNS requests. If you configured DNS correctly, it should not fill up your DNS server.
