My number 1 thing with it is , if you ever sign out of the app accidentally, or if your app data is cleared on the phone for one reason or another, Home Assistant doesn't see it as the same device, it resets the app to defaults, clears the sensor settings in the app and then assumes your phone is a new device. I encountered this today when I was cleaning out my login history (I sometimes access from my work computer) and accidentally cleared my phone's login. What happens is when your device is seen as new, then your dashboards, and other automatons need to be updated which can be timely. Additionally, any widgets you have on your phone, will no longer work until you re-configure them. My widgets control our door lock, lights and show different temperature states.
On the topic of Widgets, whenever I edit the widget to modify the text or something, it always changes the theme to Dynamic Color instead of leaving it as it was such as Transparent or Light or Dark.
I realize that people may upgrade their phones and/or upgrade to a newer and better one, and I can see where this would be valuable to record that the device is new, but there should be a way for Home Assistant to grab maybe the device's IMEI to match it in the database so it re-associates it with the existing one.
