Don't show non-recorded entities in /logbook and /history entity selection dropdown #10277

2 years on... any chance this could get some traction, now the more-info's have settled in their design? We still see the dialogs show History and Logbook placeholders stating they didnt find any data, while the system is fully aware there is none, because explicitly excluded (or non included) in recorder. Moreover, it shows the link to the respective views for logbook and history, only to find out there, or be reconfirmed, these entities are not recorded..... Ultimately this feels like a bug. and might potentially lead to unwanted navigating into the system settings. ![]() why not simply import the recorder settings:
so the Frontend can simply consume and create a list for entities to show and make it look like this ![]() generically made possible by Kiosk-mode |

Currently the entity selection dropdowns in /logbook and /history show all entities in HA. Recorded and non recorded.
It would be nice if the dropdowns would only show the actual recorded entities. Not only would that prevent clicking an unrecorded entity, only to reveal
It would also upgrade these 2 pages to be a set of great(even bigger) tools, in checking the recorder DB and whether the settings in
history:
,logbook:
andrecorder:
as fundament for the 2 former are properly implemented in HA.This is of extra value for those who have carefully curated recorded list of entities.
please consider narrowing down the selectable entities to the recorded entities.
