Breadcrumb trail / back button doesn't always go back to where you would expect

If a page has a back arrow at top left, then you would expect it to take you to the page you saw before you saw this one.

However it seems like, if the page we are on allows an activity such as configuring something, which brings us to this same page at the end of the activity, then the same page can be on the breadcrumb trail perhaps several times.

This means that for the user, pressing Back appears to do nothing. Pressing it again (or a third time) will work. If I have say five devices of the same kind, and reconfigure them all from the same page, I might need to press back five times before it works.

I'm not quite sure how this should best be avoided - is this an issue with building the breadcrumb trail, or with the Back function 🤔
