A workaround is of course to set a timer helper and display that.

But far better would be accessibility to this so it can be used in YAML/scripts etc. and/or displayed - maybe as an automation entity?

Often I have a motion sensor turn on a light and then wait for 3 minutes of inactivity. Too be able to display the countdown timer and see it reset ( on motion ) is real handy for 'tweaking' such things.
