Core Sankey chart improvement suggestions

I just noticed there is now a core Sankey energy chart. I assume this is a work in progress as I can't find any documentation on it.

Things I like:

• Automatic set up using floors and areas. Amazing! Well done. So much easier than the 3rd party card.

Things that could be improved:

• Please use the standard core card title CSS that other cards use so we don't have to make style modifications to every different card type.
• Please consider showing all grid sources
• Please consider showing numeric values
• Please consider allowing clicking on the nodes to go to pop-up more info cards.

Things that could be improved:

• Add power usage (select DEVICE__power usage instead of DEVICE__energy).
• Possibility to (automatically) add more device measurement groups, like temperature/humidity/etc.
• Option to show automatically created YAML code (when implemented).

The ability for the card to be stretched to fit the new sections view

That is already possible. Set the section to the number of columns in your view and set the card to full width.

Can individual devices added to the Energy Dashboard and which display on the Sankey chart account for upstream energy measurement the way the Energy Dashboard does?

Currently the chart is double counting energy consumption and creating erroneous artefacts in the chart such as showing energy supply out coming out of thin air.

e.g. in this chart:

The MGZS EV charging showing as a red coloured load at the bottom of the chart has its Energy Dashboard individual device set up with the GPO3 GARAGE/EAST WING as its upstream monitor:

The MGZS EV is an energy monitoring device just on that one power outlet while the GPO3 GARAGE/EAST WING is monitoring the entire power supply circuit for that part of the home.

But in the Sankey chart the MGZS EV energy is being double counted instead of removed from the GPO3 GARAGE/EAST WING energy.

The Energy Dashboard display avoids this double counting:

Is there a possibility to remove the grid section?

If not I only see the grid. First card is the new one from enegery dashbord second one is a custom one

That is the complete opposite of what this feature request is asking for (more grid sensors).

The title sounds more like a collection of proposals “Core Sankey chart improvement suggestions” but I can create an own ticket. And it's not the complete opposite I mean the purple section which is the outbound from my solar . You mean the blue one ;)

More of a question than a direct suggestion i suppose (well, depends on the answers):

After having configured a few new energy sensors (by checking PoE power of a switchport and adding sensors via Powercalc) i now have a bunch of new energy sensors that weren't there a few hours ago.

Since some of those new sensors are "behind" existing (and new) energy monitoring plugs (example: PoE port that powers an access point) that is behind a smart plug that monitors the whole UPS the switch is connected to, i've configured the PoE port to be dependent on the plug the UPS is connected to.

Before i did that, the sankey chart nicely showed the individual energy entity being located in the basement. Other entities also basically belonged to their individual rooms.

Well - now, the rooms are gone:

It is technically correct that "Backupserver" is behind "USV Keller" - but still, both should be belonging to "Keller" as well as a few other energy monitored devices (in this example "Warmwasser", among others currently not shown on the chart for some reason).

So, i guess, the question i wanted to ask is:

Did anyone else lose the Rooms devices are located in once they configured dependent devices?

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the behavior I've heard from others as well. Seems like you get one view or the other, but there's no way to display both once you start using the hierarchy.

I've opened issue #26781 for this, fingers crossed this will be fixed :)
