Ahh, sorry, you are right. Find the other screenshots attached. Making the windows so narrow that you cannot read the content is a no-go. Maybe you could make them sizing dynamically depending on resolution. That would help a lot. The screenshots show the device configuration of ESPHome. But it is the same on all other devices. Another examle in the screenshot is the input line for a helper that shifts to the right because HA renames the entity with a rather lenghty text (the entity name is not from me). I marked the input field in red. |

Yes, please ignore my second question - that is even a real bug, not a design issue. For the main question - yes, thanks for the mentioning of a workaround. But at it's core it is a matter of better using the space available on ones display. To use the whole space dynamically should be the default (or standard) and not the exception. The way it is now makes the whole concept hard to use. Anyway, I wish the UI devs come up with a solution. |

This request is not bound to any version of HA since it appears in all version until today. I use displays at resolutions of 2560x1080, 1920x1080, 1600x1200 and so forth. But there is still a waste of screen space visible. Depending on entity names they are not even visible in full and editing them is very tiresome. I would like to use the as much screen as possible for this, not just a tiny little piece in the middle. Even on my smartphone upside down the entity names are cut short. I'm not sure if this issue is a feature request or a bug - but it should be addressed.
A screenshot made on my main display at 2560x1080:
