Cover Group - add unique_id or device_class or icon

I have grouped a few covers together:

cover:
  - platform: group
    name: 'Basement Curtains'
    entities:
      - cover.basement_west_curtains
      - cover.basement_northeast_curtains
      - cover.basement_southeast_curtains

In lovelace I'd like to customize the icon:

Lovelace says it requires a unique_id in order to do that:

Cover Group does not support unique_id.

I thought maybe device_class or icon may be supported, but those are not either.

I would like to propose a feature request to add unique_id and/or device_class and/or icon.

Unique IDs have to be provided by the backend, so not a frontend topic.

But you can still set a device_class or an icon via the entity customization.

Ah, I didn't realize that. I can go that route.

Would be nice if this was built in to the group platform, as I haven't needed any other customizations, but oh well 🤷 .

Well what should the unique ID for a group be that is guaranteed to stay unique (see dev docs)? Nothing really comes to mind, but anyway, open a discussion in the forums feature request section to discuss ideas there..
