Add iOS version as a sensor

I suggest adding the phone version of iOS as a HA sensor. I'd like to monitor if wife/kids are running outdated versions on their devices.

I reckon it's probably a bit of a niche use case, but it doesn't hurt to suggest.

I'm not sure if you can make a sensor out of it, though.

Thanks for your answer. I know it's there but it cannot be automated as far as I know (either within HA or Node-Red). I couldn't make a sensor out of it.

I'd like to verify daily for some devices and send a notification based on a comparison to my phone iOS version for exemple.

I think you can make a template sensor out of, e.g.:

{{ device_attr(device_id('device_tracker.zacs_macbook_pro'), 'sw_version') }}

This returns 12.0.1 for the above device.
