Thunderbolt support?

I've just migrated my HassOS installation from a HyperV VM to bare metal on a 10th gen NUC. Main reason for migrating is USB passthrough issues with HyperV. I was using a thunderbolt 10gbe network adapter which was passing through to HyperV without issue. That same adapter is not recognized at all by HassOS on bare metal. The adapter is a "Sonnet Solo10G SFP+". Should this adapter be recognized? Or is this not supported by buildroot, which is where I assume a driver would have to be available. This same adapter is detected properly on the latest debian release, but that's probably irrelevant.
