Persistent default device?

I have been running into the issue that my USB DAC is not picked up as default device (running HaOS on a RP4).
The solution outlined here
works well for me, but as reported there by others, does not persist after a reboot (which happens quite often given the frequency of updates on HaOS and other plugins).

I suspect there is an easy way to "autostart" some pactl commands or make this part of the config stick.
Can someone tell us how or confirm that it is not possible?

Did you find a solution to "autostart" some pactl commands in HA OS ?
We don't have access to /etc/pulse/default.pa or $HOME/.config/pulse/default.pa
right?
