Description

Hello Admin,

First of all, thank you for this application. I have successfully installed it locally and uploaded our data. However, I have encountered two issues:

Search by ID: I am currently unable to search for employees using their unique ID. Since multiple employees can have similar names, the ID is the most important identifier for our records.

Custom Fields: There is currently no option to add additional fields in the employee section. For our requirements, we need to add a field for names in a second language, but I could not find a way to implement this.

Could you please advise if these features are available or if they are planned for a future update?

Use Case

Here are the use cases for implementing ID-based search and custom fields within an HRMS, focusing on general administrative and operational efficiency:

  1. Unique Employee Identification
Conflict Resolution: In organizations where multiple staff members share the same first or last names, searching by a unique ID ensures the correct record is accessed for sensitive updates like salary or leave.

Digital Filing: When physical documents are labeled with an ID, administrators can pull up the corresponding digital profile instantly to sync records.

  1. Regional & Multilingual Documentation
Dual-Language Records: For businesses operating in regions where a second language is required for legal contracts or government portals, a custom field allows for the storage of names in that specific script.

Local Compliance: Custom fields can store region-specific data points, such as specific work permit types or local tax identifiers, without cluttering standard name fields.

  1. Field Operations & Asset Tracking
Rapid Deployment: Supervisors in the field who primarily identify staff by ID numbers can quickly verify an employee’s status or contact information during high-pressure shifts.

Asset Assignment: When issuing equipment, tools, or uniforms, using a unique ID-based search links the asset to the correct person’s profile more reliably than name-based entries.

  1. Data Cleanliness & Reporting
Standardized Filtering: Enabling ID-based search allows for more structured data exports, as IDs follow a consistent alphanumeric format unlike names, which may have varying spellings.

System Scalability: As the database grows from dozens to hundreds of entries, ID-based navigation remains fast and efficient, preventing the performance lag associated with searching complex string names.

Benefits

Improved Accuracy: Searching by a unique ID prevents errors when managing employees with similar names.

Operational Efficiency: Using a fixed numeric or alphanumeric ID allows for much faster record retrieval than typing full names.

Local Compliance: The ability to add custom fields for secondary languages or specific local requirements ensures the system meets regional administrative standards.

Data Organization: Custom fields prevent "data stuffing" into notes sections, keeping your database clean and professional.
