Good idea, I like this UX more. The only note I would add is that we should maintain the current cursor behavior, i.e. at the very minimal start the cursor after the name but before the file extension. Ideally, it has the full name preselected too. |

Hey @houqp ,
I was wondering if you think inline renames would be better UX then a pop-up. I'm a big fan of oil.nvim which allows you to treat the directory tree as a normal vim buffer.
This is my idea (would prob be better to highlight the file_name and start edit behind the file extension and maybe add confirm).
