Disk Space requirements

Do I really need 1024GiB/512GiB of disk space for a variety of these controller/workers/mapr volumes..?! Can i get by with 150GiB or something more economical ?!!

It should be 3x500GB min for controller and workers and 1x500GB min for gateway.
