Description
It looks like I am having a problem as a result of 'Get list of unique album tags, grouped by albumartist'.
I have an album where I have defined 2 album artists. In classical music, this is totally feasible There are 2 solists performing.
However, only the first artist gets shown in the Artists list. However, the album now appears twice.
It does appear correctly in ncmpcpp or other clients for that matter.
Expected behaviour:
- Both artists shown in artist overview
- Single, instead of double entry of the album
This is the album: https://www.discogs.com/de/release/20523673-Anne-Gastinel-Claire-D%C3%A9sert-Chopin?srsltid=AfmBOooFMXW7E0dLPA5xJLP0OQNCAFuIzk9agqKryqtFWlXHD_U4UDp8
Do not confuse 'Chopin' as an artist. The album is titled 'Chopin'.
My album tags:
Artist: Anne Gastinel; Claire Désert
AlbumArtist: Anne Gastinel; Claire Désert
Album Title: Chopin
To be honest, I do not think the solution for merged albums is a correct one.
For example, artists do have sometimes have albums with the same name even though they are different.
I think, you should use the unique identifier as differentiator, instead of the grouping by album artist.
If there is none, I think you should accept that the original issue exists. The current way, you are changing expected MPD behavior and replacing one problem with a new one. Whereas the problem should be fixed in MPD instead of the client :).
Of and if the conclusion is you want this behaviour, in that case the app should treat the group of album artists as a key, and not per entry :)
