Can StableDiffusionReferencePipeline specify a specific region for reference？

I want to reference only to part of the content in an image, referred to as ref_mask. For example, I want to refer to the hat in this image and generate images of different people wearing almost the same hat. Can the StableDiffusionReferencePipeline achieve this through some mask parameter?

What you're referring is a problem that doesn't have a clear solution yet, this are called VTONs and there quite a lot of them right now, some of them use specific models and training, others try to just use what we have.

There isn't a really automatic solution for this though, like what you're referring, you can't provide a mask for a reference and then apply that object to the generations automatically.

There's some techniques for achieving this, I like to use controlnet and IP Adapters for the virtual try on solutions, they're not perfect and it requires some manual adjusting, but you can get something like this or even better if spend more than 5 mins doing it:

Obviously it will be a lot easier when the reference object match the style of the generation, here it's a lot harder since the reference is a painting and I'm generating a realistic photo.
