Home Assistant output instantly crashes when sending control

Windows version 2.1.1
Add homeassistant instance.
activate screen grab (or load an effect).

What is expected?

the lights to change as normal

What is actually happening?

Connects fine, but as soon as its activated and data sent hyperion crashes with this code in windows event viewer

Looks like a stack overflow. Even with screen grab disabled just using 'identify' or loading an effect also instantly crashes. Nothing in the log. Works fine with WLED instance. Same result with WLED disabled.

I'm seeing similar, with both DXGI and Qt capture, the moment I add a Home Assistant light it will bring the light up and then immediately crash. Restarting the app results in the same - the light turns on and changes colour and then the app crashes.

But the crash happens a bit later.

Having the same issue, real shame since i thought that i had finally found a nice out of the box working setup.
That could control my homeassistant lights, and also do it based on my computers monitor average color :(

Does the situation change, if you disable smoothing?

In general, both Windows grabber have some issues currently too.

After resetting the config, I turned smoothing off, and then added a new home assistant light. Unfortunately the behaviour remained the same - the light turned on and then Hyperion crashed immediately with a similar error.

Thanks for all your input.
I am able to reproduce the issue.
There are too many API requests issued in short time, which queue up and cause the failure.

We need to further investigate to find the root cause and a potential solution for the issue.
It is likely that the underlying issue effects other Network devices, e.g. WLED, the same way.

Edit: one additional thing you can try. After starting Hyperion, switch off the LED Device via the remote control page and then switch it on again. When I tried it, it looks like bouncing will get the device into a stable state (but might also have been just a coincidence...)
