hyprscrolling: Not respecting `gaps_out`

After updating hyprland to v0.53.1, the hyprscrolling plugin is no longer respecting the gaps_out setting and acting if it were set to 0.

Same thing happens to me with gapsout, gapsin defined on workspace rules.
The relevant config:

workspace=s[true], gapsout:100, gapsin:50

(gapsout value effectively zero).

Whereas, if I switch to master layout, works as expected.

EDIT: gapsin is working ok for me, gapsout is not, as with the OP.

Switching my layout to dwindle also fixes the issue. I can't give an exact breaking version since my update to 0.53.1 was a leap of a couple versions.

Same issue here. Couldn't find a workaround. New to hyprscrolling. Absolutely great stuff btw

Update: An upcoming Hyprland PR is adding a scrolling layout into mainline Hyprland, so I'm assuming this plugin won't have much more work done on it.
