Recommended way to automate cert renewal?

Is there a recommended way to automate certificate renewal?

My IBM Bluemix site keeps getting it's certificate expired, and then I manually renew it. Seems like something that would irk users!

I have a pipeline that checks for expiration, and if a cert expires within the next 30 days, I simply delete the cert using ibmcloud app domain-cert-remove example.com -f and run bluemix-letsencrypt again. Has been working fine for more than 12 months now.
