Content-Negotiation in multipart/* media-types

I'm looking into using a multipart media-type to represent collections and am trying to figure out how to do content negotiation on the parts in the multipart collection. So far I haven't been able to find anything that describes this.

Are there any existing conventions / standards?

OOh. Not that I know of, although there was a lot of work on weird conneg way back when for things like fax in the IETF. Multipart isn't widely used on the web...

We couldn't find anything either, so 👻 unknown territory. @thexa4 and I will likely try to implement a few of our ideas out and see if we still like the idea 😏
