Reproduction Steps

1. when scrollling on a giant value, the scroling glitches and jumps upwards

Expected Result

smooth scroll

Actual Result

glitchy jumps/ unable to scroll down on value obj

Hey @igorlogius ! Thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately, no since it is on a confidential company website.

You can reproduce it via pasting in a giant json on any session values box and try to scroll.

just fyi, at one point (maybe next year) i might port some of my extensions to MV3, that should make them "mostly" compatible with chromium based browsers, but it's unlikely that i'll publish to any other extension stores, so you'll have to grab and package the version yourself at that point, if you still want to then.

I was able to reproduce the issue. Adding bug label.

My first impression makes me believe that the jump happends because of the way the tabulator module handels the rendering of the table.

might be related:

• Vertical scrollbar keeps jumping to the top when the row content is longer than the height of the table olifolkerd/tabulator#4353
• Tabulator vertical scroll skipping / jumping olifolkerd/tabulator#3654
• ProgressiveLoad scroll jumping olifolkerd/tabulator#4171
• Unable to scroll to bottom on table with large amount of groups olifolkerd/tabulator#4219

I currently see two options here.

1. wait for a fix version of tabulator and update the addon when it is available
2. dont use the cell inline editor and instead add my own popout editor view

Option 2 currently seems like the best way to go long term to workaround any such problems with the table rendering, since there wont be any height changes of the rows anymore.

This will likely take me some time so yeah just saying dont hold your breath.

Main changes

1. the primary view is now a seperate window instead of a toolbar popup, to help prevent accidental data lose when switching focus for example coping data from other applications.
2. "Value" cell inline editor has been removed, instead clicking on a "Value" cell now opens a modal dialog containing a basic textarea where the cell value if fully displayed and can be edited.

Nothing is final yet and any feedback is welcome.

If i am lucky this will also fix #19 if it turns out to be an actual issue.

fix version released (1.3.24). Unwanted jumping/scrolling should now be impossible.
