Desktop Icons

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Perhaps I need to do something simple to enable this, but it seems desktop icons are not present when using tools such as xschem, magic, (or the docker instance started with start_x.sh). This causes all windows to appear the same and makes it difficult to switch between them / remember what is what (especially after coming back to work a few hours later).

It would be nice if, by default, desktop icons were shown for at least some of the more prominent tools.

What is your operating system? On macOS, when using start_x.sh the minimized windows are shown as the window content. On Linux, when minimizing windows, I see the symbol of the application in the taskbar (if an application has a useful symbol).

Aside of me reading issues too quickly, tt seems that this issue is not only based on the .desktop files, but also on the specific tool. I will investigate a bit more.

I reopened the issue so far, but I will still keep it marked as a duplicate.
