MISSING SYMBOL issue in Xschem

Describe the bug
when I try to open examples from "/foss/tools/xschem/share/doc/xschem/examples/" directory in xschem, I found MISSING SYMBOLs

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to "sudo ./start_x.sh"
2. Type in terminal '/foss/design>xschem .../share/doc/xschem/examples/greycnt.sch'
3. See error

Can you please report the output of echo $PDK and echo $IIC_OSIC_TOOLS_VERSION?

Yes sure:

Most examples seem to work again if you cd to the example directory before opening the file. It looks like something overwrites the XSCHEM_LIBRARY_PATH which results it in dropping the library paths from the examples.

I tried cd to the examples before open them, I found that the symbols are there but when I run the simulation it doesn't work , also if i copy all the folder of th example in foss/designs for example the same error appears as in the picture

You can set the netlist directory in xschem via the simulation menu. If you set that to some place where you do have write access (e.g. /foss/designs/simulations) it should use that location to store the netlists and simulation output.
