Affected functionality

As things stand, getting image with the tiff and jpeg features fetch two different versions of zune-core and zune-jpeg; because tiff 0.10.3 depends upon zune-core and zune-jpeg v0.4.21; while this crate depends upon zune-core v0.5.0 and zune-jpeg v0.5.8.

Which operating systems does this bug appear on?

Reproduction

We can get the crate with jpeg and tiff with one version of zune-core and zune-jpeg. This would need updating the tiff dependency and maybe loosening the zune-core and zune-jpeg requirements.

For the main branch, this was closed by #2743 . I'm still considering if there's enough bandwidth for a backport, in any case there is a project tracking the PRs that should be ported: Release 0.25.* (view)

Would be nice to have this in a 0.25 patch release before 2026-03-14. GNOME 50 is in beta until then and will stick with 0.25.
