The bug

I am getting an app/server mismatch error on a newly installed instance of Immich. This is occurring on both iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad gen 9. I have deleted the app and reinstalled. I am able to login in using the IP address on PC.

1. Open app
2. Enter server endpoint in the form of "http://192.168.x.x:2283/<apikey>
3. Click Next

Can you capture the screenshot of the server ip you put in the phone app?

Weird. On my iPhone X I was able to login without the /api and on another, newer iPhone 15 I had the same version of the app (the App Store version) 1.131.3 and I got the error, found this GitHub issue and added the /api and it worked.

Your login url should be http://192.168.x.x:2283/api. You do not need to use an api key in the URL. Hope that helps!

Had the same mistake, was replacing "api" by the set of characters given at server... Once I wrote only "api" worked like a charm!

Additional information for everyone stumbling on this (especially if you run immich behind a reverse proxy): http://your-server.example.com/.well-known/immich should return a json endpoint - if it does not, check the letsencrypt part of the reverse-proxy documentation on how to configure your reverse proxy.

I have a domain. myfotos.myname.com. This is what I expect to enter. Without http(s) and without /api. This should be automatically amended.

Would that not be possible?

Even if it is a configuration problem of my RP, I think that the message "version not compatible" should only be displayed, if it is for certain that this is the issue, i.e. if the APP has reached the Server and knows its Version and that there is an incompatibility.

@alextran1502 I was using cloudflared to expose immich server it to the internet and i too had to add /api in android app.
I think you detect blank page in "/" or root to check for the valid immich server.
But the issue was i had set it up with nginx to serve built web in root and all request starting from /api/ were being forwarded to the server.
