We have no plan to add any kind of super admin, all of these needs should be (made) possible with proper partner sharing etc. (you posted in the wrong place btw) |

Use Case:
In some scenarios (e.g., family photo libraries, small team setups), it would be extremely useful for an admin to fully manage the media content without needing to switch accounts or migrate ownership manually.
Current Limitation:
Admins can view shared media, but cannot:
Delete files,
Add likes,
Add face tags,
Edit metadata.
Proposed Feature:
Add a setting like:
Allow administrator full access to all media content
When enabled:
Admins can perform any operation on any media (with proper warnings to users if necessary).
Potential Challenges:
Ownership model in database design.
Permissions and audit logs.
UX considerations to avoid confusion between normal users and super-admins.
Why it matters:
Simplifies management for shared libraries.
Reduces the need for complicated user workflows or content duplication.
Makes Immich more flexible for wider deployment cases (family, small companies, community archives).
Would love to hear if this is on the roadmap, and how feasible it would be to implement!
Thanks again for the awesome work on Immich — it's an incredible project!
