[Feature] phone app should support only backup new photos

The feature

Hi, I am migrating to Immich recently, and have all my current photos being imported by external storage. However, I cannot continue back up my NEW photos and videos, as the mobile app can only create new backup and duplicate all media on my current phone. I believe this feature to backup only New media is essential and helpful. I also post a screenshot in synology Photos as reference. Thank you.

This particular discussion 4169 is not fully related to what the person asked here. We simply want to upload new photos from this date and ignore everything older. There are so many people on synology photos right now that simply are not comfortable to switch to immich fully. Please enable us do it easier. I want to start using immich ios backup as soon as possible but I can't even begin to beta test this upload feature for myself and family if I have to re upload a bunch of photos.

@nckrwlmn they kind of give a method for our problem, to just add all old photos to an album and choose not to backup that album. They are kind of arrogant that they don't want to fulfill such basic function, not to mention this collaborator's sarcastic comment that I did't use the search lol

What makes you think we're refusing to implement this? The linked FR is still open. Accusing us of arrogance and sarcasm isn't very nice, we're just doing our best to keep the list of feature requests manageable by closing duplicates.
