Hi Team! 👋
Bug / Issue
I've just managed to accidentally delete around 50-60 photos that weren't yet backed up to Immich.
Using the Android App, I had all the photos selected (8 already backed up) and accidentally pressed "Delete". Since this action has no confirmation dialog, they were immediately removed from my device.
Compared to the "Delete from device" action which will display a confirmation since the app knows some of the items you have selected aren't yet backed up.
This moved the 8 backed up photos into the remote trash, but deleted all of the non-backed up photos.
This also bypasses the built-in photos app which has its own trash, but since they were deleted from Immich and not that app, they are no where to be found.
Solution
My idea would be to have either a separate trash which if deleting non-backed up assets, they aren't instantly removed, and instead moved to an area on the apps internal storage to keep them for these scenarios.
These could then be shown either in a "Device trash" area or merged with the normal "Trash" area, with a clear status of where the asset is located.
Thankfully these photos weren't too precious but would have been very useful to easily restore these from a local trash.
Love all the recent improvements and progress though, so hope to see something like this soon! ❤️
