[Feature] Timeline keeping track of where you left off better

The feature

I wasn't sure if this is a bug report or feature request, feel free to correct me.
When selecting a photo from the timeline, select a person in that photo and then go back (via the browser or esc), you are at the top of the timeline (most recent) instead of where you were before. In most cases this is not what the user wants and can be very annoying. On mobile it works as expected.
