change the date or location of the external library images

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

I have added an external photo library (read and write). If I change the date or location of one or more photos, is the metadata of the original files changed? Do I need to update the library?

I would like this functionality so I have my photos in folders and can use Immich to update the metadata
