Feature Request – Shared People (Face Recognition) Across Users

The feature

Dear Immich Team,

First of all, thank you so much for your amazing work! My wife and I use Immich and we’re absolutely impressed by the facial recognition, the sleek UI, and the overall performance. It’s by far the best photo solution we’ve come across.

I’d like to suggest a feature that would be incredibly useful for families or couples using Immich with separate user accounts:

Feature idea:
Allow users to share detected people (faces) with other users. For example, if Immich detects our daughter in photos, both my wife and I should be able to automatically see those photos – without needing to manually create albums or share individual pictures.

A possible approach could be a “share person with user” option within the People section, enabling Immich to make all images of that person visible to both accounts.

This would solve the common issue of having photos of each other or our child stuck in just one account’s library, even though we both want access to them.

Once payday comes around, I’ll definitely support the project financially as well – you all truly deserve it!
