Videos in Immich are already transcoded by default, unless you change those settings. |

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
I'm wondering if there could be a feature for transcoding videos when they are shared to others by a public link, since some of the files are pretty big and hard to delivery them through WAN.
For example. I uploaded a 2 min video with a size of 1GB, when I preview it within my LAN, it works fine. But the transmission speed through WAN may be limited. So the videos could be compressed and transcoded into more efficient formats, e.g. 720p Webm. If the visitor wanna a better quality, they can download the video or there could be a button to load the original file.
The transcoding job could be created when the link is generated, and the server keep it until the share got expired or deleted.
This may be an immature idea, but I think it would be helpful for sharing larger videos, especially since the size of videos shot on mobile phones is rapidly increasing today.
