What is the manageable amount of images that Immich can handle?

Hi Everybody,

I currently have a library of 61.000 images and 4.000 videos that I've uploaded to Immich. It still works, but you can see that things start to slow down.

These are - so far - only the images my wife and I had on our phones. In a perfect works, I would love to also add all our vacation photos from the past 15 years to Immich via external libraries.

Does anybody has experiences with a large amount of images? What is the max you have tried? Do you ever reach a point where you think it's not usable anymore?

I used Synology Photos before and that is simply unable to handle these large amount of images.

We've heard of people using it with millions and the timeline works fine, other parts of the app such as albums currently don't cope well with thousands of albums, but we're working on improving that too. Some part of what Immich is capable of will also be down to the hardware you're running it on however.
