To expand on this, I think this can be a big help. I reprocessed my entire library and my library folder is now 200gb to service my 70k photos and 7k videos. Of that, I have 13k -MP videos in the encodedvideo folder, and they use up 109gb of the 200gb. Thats pretty nuts, and I'd love to get that back |

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
My understanding is that immich will take a motion photo and strip it into a photo and an encoded video. I know immich does not want to modify original photos but is there a scenario where you could give the user an option to ignore processing the encodedvideo of motion photos? Maybe just an option in the settings? Or even better would be able to pick and choose which photos will be processed.
Im sure many others, like myself, leaving motion on all the time and then you are stuck with a ton of photos with motion still attached. Or in a more extreme case, I have 3 years of photos with motion on them and removing them now would mean transferring back to my phone to remove them one by one (at least on my Samsung S24). Allowing us the option to not do anything with the encoded video would be helpful for those of us trying to save file system space.
Thanks for the consideration
