[Feature] Request to create a new channel section

The feature

Hi Alex and Immich team,

During last 12 months I have been developing an interesting tool to facilitate the Migration Process from Google Photos and other photo services to Immich.

So far there are many people that have used this tool to migrate their photos to Immich, so I was thinking if it could be possible to open a new channel section on the third party’s apps to include PhotoMigrator. I’m pretty sure that many Immich users (and future Immich users) will be benefited of this.

I know that there are already some other tools like Immich-go to do this, but PhotoMigrator goes one step further and is not valid only to migrate from Google Photos to Immich but also from other Photo cloud services such Synology Photos and very soon iCloud and NextCloud.

PhotoMigrator also helps user to do some basic but interesting batch actions (currently not available through web/mobile interface) such as renaming albums, remove empty albums, remove orphans assets, merge albums, download/upload albums, download/upload complete media libraries, etc…

If you consider that this tool could be interesting for Immich community please, feel free to create a new section for it.

The way we decide to create a new channel is based on whether there is enough activity in the discord server to warrant it. Feel free to talk with your users in our general channels, and then if there is enough of that to necessitate its own channel we will create one.

But currently the number of users is not high enough to generate activity because the tool does not have a big audience, but most probably if we create a new channel section on Immich discord server, many new people will use the tool and will generate more and more activity on discord.

I haven't had the impression that just having a channel on our server has driven significant traffic to other community projects.

ok, it's up to you, but I'm not talking of just having a channel, there is a complete active project with more than 1 year of development behind that channel, and many users that have already tried the Migration tool are very very satisfied, that's why I think that give more visibility to the tool could benefit to more and more Immich users to help them with the migration process from their current Photo Cloud service into Immich.

Just take a look to the project PhotoMigrator and valorate it by yourself if it worth or not.
