[Feature] Remember Globe/Flat Earth setting

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

I prefer the globe view on the map, but it resets to the flat map view when switching away and back to the map view. Please remember the setting (ideally for the user, but at least for the session).
