I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

I know that comments are currently locked down to users due to security concerns.
Would it be possible to say...
“Name prompt before commenting”

The system could:

1. Let anyone with the link click “Comment.”

2. Prompt: “Enter your name to post comments.”

3. Store the name with the comment, even without authentication.

4. Optionally use a cookie or local storage so they don’t have to retype it.
