[Feature] Configurable In-App Notifications for New Media in Shared Albums

I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.

The feature

Currently, Immich sends email notifications when new media is added to an album that a user is part of. While this is helpful, it lacks flexibility and user control. I’d like to propose a feature that allows users to receive in-app notifications for this event, with the ability to configure their preferred notification method.

• Add support for in-app notifications when new media is added to a shared album.
• Introduce a user-level setting to choose notification method:
  • Email
  • In-app
  • Both
  • None
• Allow users to disable email notifications if they prefer in-app only.

• Improves user experience by reducing unwanted emails.
• Gives users more control over how they stay informed.
• Aligns with modern notification practices in media-sharing apps.

📌 Notes

• This feature already exists via email, so the backend event trigger should be in place, right?
• The enhancement would primarily involve frontend notification handling and user preferences.
