New timeline backup to single specific album

My workflow with the old timeline is to backup all photos from my phone to a single album and keep that album as a "staging" area. When my photos are there, I know I have to triage them and move them into the correct albums.

When it auto-updated to the new timeline, this stopped working, so I reverted back to the old experience.

As the old timeline will be deprecated, I would like to switch back, but I do not know if this pattern is supported by the new timeline setting it up in a certain way and I prefer not to switch if I don't know if this is supported.

Can you please let me know if (and how) it is possible to always backup all photos from an Android device to the same single Immich album every time I kick a manual backup? (must be manual as I need to connect to the VPN every time I want to back up).

Do you mean the "Recents" album in the old timeline?

no, I have the "Camera" folder on my Android phone that I sync every day and that gets mapped to the album "Camera"; once synced, I know that I have to remove the photos from that album and put them in the proper albums. I use "Camera" as a "staging" album before triaging all the photos into the right albums. I was unable to do that from a quick try on the new timeline.

@alextran1502 will the old timeline be deprecated anytime soon? I may just use the old timeline for good if this behavior is not supported in the new. thanks
