@bo0tzz i was gonna reply that lol. anyways the real solution is to tick "Embedded RAW/JPEG Previews" in Settings when Immich is unable to render CR3s. And having both CR3+JPG is stupid because the raw file is better compressed than the jpeg. |

So I recently got a new camera: Canon EOS R6 Mark III which can shoot in JPG/HEIC/CR3. Shooting in HDR requires HEIC/CR3 while SDR shots can be JPG/CR3. However, when it comes to archiving these images / sharing these images with other people, they don't seem to work well with Immich.
CR3 images are previewed with a pink/purple haze like so: #15457
HDR/HEIC images appear grey/faded out.
Only JPGs render correctly. So I am curious about the other canon shooters here. How do you deal with this? Do you shoot only JPG or JPG/CR3 and keep JPGs in Immich and CR3s for archival?
By no means is this a diss against Immich (I love Immich!), and I know that for HDR, immich depends on libvips and for cr3 support, it relies on libraw so it's upto the underlying libraries to add support. This is supposed to be merely a discussion thread on how people adapt to this situation.
