When I open geonames in my browser the certificate is valid. Is there anything that might be intercepting your connection?

It works on my browser aswell, nothing is intercepting.

A wild guess, but each time I ran into such certificate errors, it was due to date/time skew on the client system. Might wanna check that (in the container).

The same problem, running in wsl. I restarted Windows and it was fixed.

Closing since the geocoder implementation has been fully overhauled.
