⭐ The New 1.91 Update ⭐

Hey, I just wanted to share my review for the new 1.91 update to Immich.

To be honest, it is even better now, like, a solid 6 stars out of 5. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can't tell you how many times I wanted to get away from Google Photos, because of the simple fact that, I had more than 5 google accounts to just get the storage to back up my photos incase of an disastrous event of something happening to my phone. 😅
And since I am just a teenager, I cant really spend on a Google One subscription.

I initially started to use Piwigo at first, because of the simple fact that it came first on google when I typed "Photo Management Self-Hosted Software", but, after installing it, I had heaps of issues, and, I found out that I cant play videos on the web interface without a stupid extension, and, it had a limited number of supported video and photo types, that i could upload.
Also, half of the time, IOS auto uploading was bugged, and, Android was even worse.

Then, on some random website, I found Immich, which explained itself as a "Google Photos Duplicate, just Self Hosted". Immediately I was excited, because, I was just hoping for something like Google Photos, just, Self Hosted on my own Hardware.

I like that it can be self hosted, as, it is my Data, and, I really don't want to share it with anyone, also, I absolutely don't support the monopoly that big cloud providers have over your Data.

Before the 1.91 update, everything was fantastic. I loved that the web interface had some relevancy with the Android/IOS app, and, I could even share individual photos with family or friends (Uhm Piwigo).

But now, with the typesense database removed, it is soo much faster now! Ill say that it is a whopping 70% faster, on the initial load speeds.
