[Bug]: helium update/updater kills my network/internet

Have you tested that this is not an upstream issue or an issue with your configuration?

• I have tried reproducing this issue in Chrome and it could not be reproduced there
• I have tried reproducing this issue in ungoogled-chromium and it could not be reproduced there
• I have tried reproducing this issue in Helium with a new and empty profile using --user-data-dir command line argument and it could not be reproduced there

Description

whenever there is a helium update the updater kills (or chokes) my network

How to Reproduce?

1. go to about helium
2. wait for it to update

Actual behavior

the updater starts the download and slowly downloads the update. after a while i lose internet connection, it gets stuck and all my devices (phone eg.) lose internet connection. my router lights are OK but my internet somehow is gone and have to restart my router

Expected behavior

update just working

Additional context

i know this issue sounds kinda crazy. usually software cant cause such stuff and it seems unrelated to helium however it happened multiple times and i currently download the dmg from github manually.

i opened this issue to be more of a discussion and trying to understand if its really caused by helium updater or something else.

if there are other people having such crazy scenario, please comment.

i am happy to provide logs or something else that can help. not sure how to get something useful of this maybe i can try to record a video somehow by downgrading and triggering the update mechanism

when i first searched the repo with "updater" didn't saw #62 it may related but not sure. i wonder if @FA-TAAA still has similar updating issues and if he had some weird connection problems while updating. his screenshots show 142% so it may was something different since he didn't re-open or comment

@poyhen No. In my case the network was working normally. The only issue was the updater that kept updating infinitely.
But all I had to do is close Helium and reopen it. That fixed it.

i am closing this since i cant reproduce it and didnt happen on recent update. may open in the future or if someone else has an issue can comment here

there is something happening that can just take my entire network down. i dont know how this is possible. i have to reboot my router and it just keeps happening i am not sure if its caused by my ISP. re-opening maybe some other people fall into it

is there a better way to debug this properly?
