Use cli instead of assertthat

It would be good to replace assertthat with cli for the error/warning messages.

Indeed, good point. Something we surely could do for nicer (error) messages. I think we should do it while releasing version 1.1 or higher. I would release version 1.0 still using {assertthat} package.
