Toast re-appearing when doing back

Does anyone know how to resolve the issue where things like toast messages are re-executed when clicking the back button in a browser to go to the previous page?

I believe this has been fixed with:

window.addEventListener("popstate", (event) => {
    event.stopImmediatePropagation();

    router.reload({
        except: ["flash"],
    });
});
