Icons are not shown on MacOS Preview with XeLaTex

For some reason, when using XeLaTex, icons are not shown in MacOS built-in apps (tested in Preview, Safari). However, it is shown in 3rd party apps (tested in Firefox/Chrome). If I switch the engine to something else than XeLaTex, it's working in all apps
