Is your feature request related to a problem?

If you are using multisite for one multilingual website, you need to work against many default configurations, because the sites do not have any connection by design. If you want to share access to media files, you need custom code or plugins.

Thanks for sharing this idea. I like it for many reasons. Sharing media across sites in a multisite network is a common challenge, particularly in multilingual setups.

That said, this is quite a heavyweight request. It touches not only on media handling but also on broader topics like CDN support and potential integration with Digital Asset Managers (DAM). Any implementation would need to be carefully considered to ensure it remains flexible and reliable across different environments.

That doesn’t mean it’s off the table, just that we’d need to explore it thoughtfully. Thanks again for raising this and for linking to existing community solutions!
