Is there any chance MIDI handling can be added to the USB interface?

Newbie here.

I hope to use a MIDI keyboard through USB in the VM but the USB driver seems hardwired to basic default function. (Virtualising Sonoma). Is there any way to upgrade the USB function or otherwise recognise the USB-MIDI protocol?

As discussed in #307, USB passthrough is not currently possible with Apple's Virtualization framework.
