[Usage question] - Finding a region not labeled

we are looking to investigate the S1DZ region in the somatosensory cortex, but the IBL dataset does not have a label for this region; is there an ideal way of going about finding the region? Thank you so much!

Hello,

We use the Allen Institute common coordinate framework. If S1DZ is not part of the anatomical labels of the Allen CCF, you will need to find the nearest brain region in the Allen framework to perform the query. Here is an example of how to search for insertions that contain a specific Allen brain region: https://docs.internationalbrainlab.org/notebooks_external/data_download.html#Find-recordings-of-a-specific-brain-region.
Once you've done this, you can load the MLAPDV coordinates for fine-grained analysis of cluster location.
