Have a look at the BOM documentation. There are two items in particular that might be useful: |

Hi,
Is there a way to add multiple parts to act collectively as a substitute for a single BOM line item in an assembly?
For example, suppose Part A is comprised of BOM line items A1, A2, A3 and B. Part B in turn is comprised of B1, B2 and B3. At any given time, there could be several units of B in stock, or there could be the individual constituent parts (B1, B2, B3) in stock, or both. When allocating stock for a Build Order for Part A, is there a way to have the option to allocate the B subassembly or the BOM line items of B?
One way to resolve this would be to have Part B and Parts B1, B2 and B3 make up the BOM for Part A, with them all marked as 'Optional'. However, this leaves the possibility that the Build Order could be completed 'successfully' without any of the required parts of 'B' being allocated.
Let me know if you have any ideas
Thanks
